Synopsis/Plot
Gulliver’s Travels is a 2010 American fantasy adventure comedy film directed by Rob Letterman and starring Jack Black, Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Amanda Peet, Billy Connolly, and T.J. Miller. The film is based on the 1726 novel of the same name by Jonathan Swift.
The story follows a mailroom clerk named Lemuel Gulliver (Jack Black) who takes a voyage to the fantastical world of Lilliput, where he is a giant among its tiny citizens. He is arrested and put on trial for his giant size and is eventually sentenced to a life of servitude. Gulliver must then use his wits and strength to protect the kingdom of Lilliput and its citizens from the evil plans of the neighboring giants. Along the way, Gulliver meets a beautiful princess (Emily Blunt) and becomes embroiled in a battle between the Lilliputians and their rivals, the Blefuscu.
The film features a mix of live action and computer-generated imagery, with the Lilliputians and other fantastical creatures being created with the help of motion capture technology. The film also features a musical score by Henry Jackman
