Synopsis/Plot
Grave Encounters is a 2011 found-footage horror film directed by the Vicious Brothers. The film follows a film crew of a paranormal reality television show as they investigate the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, which is rumored to be haunted. After entering the hospital, the crew quickly discovers that the building is indeed haunted and they are unable to escape.
The film begins with the crew of the reality show, Grave Encounters, filming their latest episode at the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital. The crew, led by host Lance Preston, consists of cameraman Sasha, sound technician Matt, production assistant T.C., and executive producer Larry. Upon entering the hospital, the crew quickly discovers that the building is indeed haunted. They are soon terrorized by the ghosts of former patients and staff, including a female nurse and a mysterious figure known as The Guardian.
The crew attempts to escape the hospital but soon realizes that the doors are locked and the windows are barred. As the crew continues to investigate the hospital, they discover that the building is actually a portal to a dark dimension known as the “Other Side”. They also discover that the only way to escape is to confront and defeat The Guardian.
