Synopsis – What to Expect from “Good Kill”
Good Kill is a dramatic thriller set in the modern age of drone warfare. It follows the story of Major Thomas Egan (Ethan Hawke), an Air Force drone pilot who is struggling to adjust to life in Las Vegas after serving in Afghanistan.
The film begins with Major Egan in a cockpit, controlling a drone from a remote location. He is assigned to a mission to take out a group of insurgents in the Middle East and is successful in doing so. However, his successful mission is overshadowed by the fact that he is unable to save the lives of innocent civilians in the process.
Egan is then transferred to a base in Las Vegas, where he is tasked with controlling drones for the US military. Initially, he is filled with enthusiasm for the job and believes that he is making a real difference in the world. However, as he continues to carry out his missions, he begins to feel increasingly disconnected from the reality of the situation. He is haunted by the memories of the people he has killed, and the feeling of guilt and remorse begins to take its toll on him.
Egan becomes increasingly disillusioned with the situation and begins to question the morality of the US military’s use of drones. He also begins to feel increasingly isolated from his family and friends, as he is unable to talk to them about his experiences.
Eventually, Egan reaches his breaking point and decides to take a stand against the US military
