Synopsis – What to Expect from “Going the Distance”
Going the Distance is a 2004 romantic comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. The film follows Erin (Barrymore) and Garrett (Long) as they attempt to maintain a long-distance relationship while living in different cities.
Erin is a recent college graduate who moves to San Francisco to pursue her dream of becoming a journalist. Garrett is an aspiring music producer living in New York City. Despite their different backgrounds, the two meet and quickly fall in love.
The couple attempts to make their relationship work, but the distance between them proves to be a challenge. Garrett visits Erin in San Francisco and she visits him in New York, but the time spent together is fleeting. The couple also faces obstacles from family and friends who are skeptical of their relationship.
Despite the odds, Erin and Garrett continue to try and make their relationship work. They come up with creative ways to stay connected, like sending each other care packages and exchanging emails. They also make plans for the future, including a possible move to Los Angeles.
Will Erin and Garrett be able to make their relationship work despite the distance? Or will the pressures of being apart prove too much? Going the Distance is a heartwarming story about two people who find love in the most unlikely of places.
