Synopsis – What to Expect from “Godsend”
Godsend is a psychological thriller that tells the story of a couple, Paul and Jessie Duncan (Greg Kinnear and Rebecca Romijn), whose son, Adam, tragically dies in an accident. In an attempt to cope with their grief, they turn to an experimental procedure offered by a mysterious doctor, Richard Wells (Robert De Niro). Wells claims that he can clone Adam and bring him back to life, and the Duncans agree to the procedure.
Eight years later, the Duncans are living a seemingly perfect life with Adam, who is now eight years old. However, strange things begin to happen as Adam grows older. He begins to display strange behavior, such as having violent outbursts and an obsession with death. Paul and Jessie begin to suspect that something is wrong with their son, and they soon discover the shocking truth: Adam is not their son, but a clone of their deceased son.
The Duncans must now confront the moral and ethical implications of their actions. They must decide whether to keep Adam or to send him away. Meanwhile, Wells is still lurking in the background, determined to use Adam for his own sinister purposes.
As the Duncans struggle to make sense of their situation, they must also confront the reality that their son is not the same as he was before, and that the consequences of their decision will be far-reaching.
Godsend is a gripping and thought-provoking film
