Synopsis/Plot
Gnomeo & Juliet is a 2011 3D computer-animated romantic comedy film based on William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet. The film follows the adventures of two garden gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet, who are in love but come from different sides of the garden fence. When a feud between their families threatens to keep them apart, the two bravely embark on a journey to find a way to be together.
The film is set in Stratford-upon-Avon and stars the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as Gnomeo and Juliet, respectively, with Michael Caine, Patrick Stewart, Maggie Smith, Stephen Merchant, Matt Lucas, Jim Cummings, Richard Wilson, Ozzy Osbourne, Dolly Parton, and Julie Walters in supporting roles. The film features music from Elton John and includes renditions of several of his songs.
