Synopsis/Plot
Get the Gringo is an action-packed crime thriller that follows the story of a career criminal known only as “Driver.” After a failed attempt to smuggle millions of dollars across the US-Mexico border, Driver finds himself in a Mexican prison. In order to survive, he must rely on his street smarts and cunning to make allies and enemies alike. With the help of a 10-year-old boy, Driver works to outwit the prison’s corrupt authorities and escape with his loot.
The movie stars Mel Gibson as Driver, with supporting roles by Peter Stormare, Dean Norris, and Bob Gunton. It was written and directed by Adrian Grunberg, and produced by Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey.
The movie is set in a Mexican prison, where the inmates are divided into two groups: the “gringos” and the “locals.” Driver is the only gringo in the prison, and he quickly finds himself in a precarious position. He must use his street smarts and cunning to survive the harsh prison conditions, while also trying to find a way to escape with his loot.
