Synopsis – What to Expect from “Get Over It”
Get Over It is a romantic comedy released in 2001. It follows high school student Berke Landers (Ben Foster) who is dumped by his girlfriend Allison (Melissa Sagemiller) after she moves away. Heartbroken, Berke attempts to win her back with the help of his best friend Felix (Colin Hanks).
Berke and Felix enlist the help of their friend, the eccentric and flamboyant Dennis (Shane West) to help them win Allison back. They devise a plan to have Berke audition for a school musical, with the hopes that Allison will come to see him perform.
Meanwhile, Berke meets Kelly (Kirsten Dunst), a new student in school who is a big fan of Shakespeare. The two begin to bond and fall in love.
Berke and Felix’s plan works and Allison comes to see the musical. However, she is unimpressed and tells Berke that she is dating someone else.
Berke is heartbroken once again, but he finds solace in Kelly. He realizes that he has fallen in love with her and the two share a kiss.
Berke goes to see Allison one last time and tells her that he has moved on. She is happy for him and they part on good terms.
Berke and Kelly perform together in the musical and share a kiss on stage. The movie ends with Berke and Kelly happily walking away together.
