Synopsis/Plot
George of the Jungle is a 1997 American live-action comedy film directed by Sam Weisman and based on the Jay Ward cartoon of the same name. The film stars Brendan Fraser as the titular character, a jungle-dwelling man raised by animals, and Leslie Mann as Ursula Stanhope, a prim and proper heiress from San Francisco.
The story follows George, a man raised in the jungle by a family of apes, who is discovered by Ursula, a wealthy heiress from San Francisco. When Ursula’s fiancé, Lyle Van de Groot, attempts to exploit the jungle’s natural resources, George must protect his home and the animals he loves. With the help of Ursula and his best friend, an ape named Ape, George must outwit Lyle and save the jungle.
George of the Jungle is a hilarious, action-packed adventure that is sure to delight all ages.
