Synopsis – What to Expect from “Generation Um…”
Generation Um… is a 2012 drama film written and directed by Mark Mann.
The movie follows three twenty-somethings in New York City – John, Mia, and Violet – who are all struggling to find their place in the world. John (Keanu Reeves) is a driver for an escort service. Mia (Bojana Novakovic) is an aspiring actress who works as a bartender in between auditions. Violet (Adelaide Clemens) is a young woman who is trying to find her place in the world after being kicked out of college.
The three of them come together when John and Mia offer Violet a ride home after a night out. The three of them then embark on a journey of self-discovery, trying to figure out who they are and what they want out of life.
The movie follows the three of them as they explore New York City, going to bars, clubs, and other places. Along the way, they each confront their own personal demons and discover more about themselves and each other.
The movie culminates in a night of self-reflection and realization for all three of them, as they come to terms with their lives and their future. In the end, they come to a realization that they are all in the same boat, and that it is up to them to make their own destinies.
