Synopsis – What to Expect from “From Justin to Kelly”
From Justin to Kelly is a 2003 romantic musical comedy film directed by Robert Iscove. It stars Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini, both of whom had previously appeared on the first season of the television series American Idol.
The film follows the story of Justin (Guarini) and Kelly (Clarkson), two college students who meet during spring break in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Justin is a college student from Pennsylvania who is visiting Fort Lauderdale with his best friend, Brandon (Greg Siff). Kelly is a college student from Texas who is visiting with her best friend, Alexa (Katherine Bailess).
Justin and Kelly are immediately attracted to each other, but they are both too shy to make a move. After a few awkward moments, Justin finally works up the courage to ask Kelly out on a date. Kelly agrees and the two go out for dinner and dancing.
Meanwhile, Justin’s friend Brandon is trying to win the heart of Alexa, but she is not interested in him. In order to make her jealous, Brandon sets up a date between Justin and another girl, Kaya (Anika Noni Rose). Kaya is an aspiring singer who is trying to make it in the music business.
