Synopsis/Plot
From Hell is a 2001 American mystery thriller film directed by the Hughes brothers and starring Johnny Depp, Heather Graham, and Ian Holm. The film is based on the graphic novel From Hell by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell.
The film follows Inspector Frederick Abberline (Depp), an opium-huffing detective in 1888 London, as he investigates the mysterious Jack the Ripper murders. Abberline’s investigation takes him into the seedy underworld of Victorian London, where he discovers a secret society of Freemasons and a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of society.
