Synopsis – What to Expect from “From Beyond the Grave”
From Beyond the Grave is a 1974 British horror anthology film directed by Kevin Connor. The film is comprised of four separate stories, each featuring a different protagonist who makes a fateful decision that leads to supernatural consequences.
The first story follows Edward Charlton (Peter Cushing), a reclusive antique shop owner who is visited by a man looking to purchase a mysterious mirror. Edward refuses to sell the mirror, and the man leaves in a rage. Later, Edward discovers that the mirror was cursed and that anyone who looks into it will be visited by a supernatural figure who will exact revenge on them. Edward is soon visited by the ghost of the man who wanted to buy the mirror and is forced to confront his own mortality.
The second story follows a young couple, David (Ian Bannen) and Margaret (Diana Dors), who move into a new apartment and find a strange old chest in the basement. David opens the chest, only to discover that it contains a cursed book that grants wishes. When David and Margaret make a wish, they are visited by a mysterious figure who demands a payment in return for granting their wish.
The third story follows a wealthy businessman, Mr. Whitley (Donald Pleasence), who purchases a cursed Egyptian statue from a mysterious man.
