Synopsis/Plot
Frantic is a 1988 thriller-drama film directed by Roman Polanski and starring Harrison Ford as Dr. Richard Walker, a prominent American doctor whose wife, Sondra (Betty Buckley), is mysteriously abducted in Paris. As Walker frantically searches for her, he finds himself caught in a web of international intrigue and danger.
The film follows Walker’s desperate attempts to find his wife, as he is pulled deeper into a shadowy underworld of criminals and spies. He is aided in his quest by a French detective, Claude Mazard (Emmanuelle Seigner), who is investigating a series of murders in the city. Mazard helps Walker uncover a series of clues that lead him to a mysterious figure known as “The American” (John Mahoney).
Walker soon discovers that his wife has been kidnapped by a group of terrorists who are planning to use her as leverage in a high-stakes plot to gain access to a powerful new weapon. With the help of Mazard and the American, Walker must race against time to save his wife and prevent the terrorists from gaining control of the weapon.
Frantic is a suspenseful and thrilling ride, as Walker is forced to confront a web of deceit
