Synopsis – What to Expect from “Flesh + Blood”
Flesh + Blood is a 1985 epic historical drama set in the 16th century Netherlands. It follows the story of a group of mercenaries led by the fierce and ambitious Martin (Rutger Hauer). When their mission to rescue a kidnapped princess is foiled, the group is left stranded and desperate for a way to survive.
The mercenaries soon come across a castle owned by the wealthy and powerful Count of Arnhem (Fernando Hilbeck). The Count offers them a deal: if they help him take control of a nearby city, he will reward them with enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their lives.
The mercenaries accept the deal and set off on their mission. Along the way, they encounter a variety of characters, including a beautiful young woman named Agnes (Jennifer Jason Leigh). Martin and Agnes form an unlikely bond as they travel together, but their mission is complicated by the machinations of the Count and his henchman, the menacing Stephen (Jack Thompson).
The mercenaries eventually succeed in their mission, but their victory is short-lived. The Count reveals his true intentions and turns on them, leaving the mercenaries to fight for their lives against overwhelming odds. In the end, Martin and Agnes must rely on their courage and resourcefulness to survive and find a way to escape the Count’s clutches.
