Synopsis – What to Expect from “Five Senses of Eros”
Five Senses of Eros is a 2009 South Korean anthology film directed by five directors, each with a unique story exploring the theme of love.
The first story is “Sweet Taste,” directed by Park Heung-sik. It follows a young couple, Hyeon-joon and So-yeon, who are deeply in love. They decide to move in together, but Hyeon-joon’s mother objects to the arrangement. When Hyeon-joon’s mother insists that they should get married, So-yeon agrees, but only if Hyeon-joon can prove his love for her by completing five tasks.
The second story is “Scent of Attraction,” directed by Jeon Gye-soo. It follows a young woman, Ji-yeon, who is attracted to a mysterious man with whom she has a strong connection. After a chance encounter, Ji-yeon follows the man and discovers he is a Buddhist monk. Despite their differences, the two develop a strong bond and Ji-yeon begins to question her own beliefs.
