Synopsis – What to Expect from “First Snow”
First Snow is a 2006 psychological thriller starring Guy Pearce and directed by Mark Fergus. It follows Jimmy Starks (Pearce), a successful yet self-destructive salesman who receives a mysterious fortune teller’s prediction that he will soon die. As the prediction begins to come true, Jimmy is forced to confront his past and make peace with his future.
The story begins with Jimmy Starks, a successful yet reckless salesman, who is living the high life in Las Vegas. He has it all – money, women, and a successful career. But his life is about to take a dramatic turn when he meets a mysterious fortune teller who tells him he will soon die. Despite his disbelief, Jimmy begins to experience strange occurrences that lead him to believe the prediction may be true.
As his life begins to unravel, Jimmy is forced to confront his past and make peace with his future. He returns to his hometown of Abilene, Texas, to reconnect with his estranged brother, Tommy (J.K. Simmons). As he and Tommy attempt to mend their broken relationship, they both come to terms with their painful past.
Meanwhile, Jimmy continues to experience the strange occurrences that seem to be connected to the fortune teller’s prediction. He begins to question his own sanity as he is plagued by strange dreams and visions. Jimmy soon realizes that the fortune teller’s prediction is coming true and he must find a way to prevent his own death.
