Synopsis/Plot
First Blood is an action-packed 1982 film starring Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo, a Vietnam War veteran who is driven to the brink of insanity when he is unjustly pursued by a small-town sheriff. After being arrested for vagrancy, Rambo escapes and embarks on a one-man mission of revenge against the authorities who wronged him. With the help of his former commanding officer, Rambo must use his superior physical and mental abilities to survive in the wilderness and outwit the sheriff and his deputies.
The film opens with Rambo being discharged from the military and returning home to a country that has no place for him. He is quickly arrested for vagrancy and taken to a small townwhere he is mistreated by the local sheriff, Will Teasle. Rambo eventually escapes from the police station and flees into the nearby woods. Teasle and his deputies pursue Rambo, but he is able to outsmart them and evade capture.
Rambo eventually finds himself in a life-or-death struggle with Teasle and his men. With the help of his former commanding officer, Colonel Trautman, Rambo is able to turn the tables on Teasle and his men, using his superior physical and mental abilities to survive in the wilderness. In the end, Rambo learns that he can never go back to the way things were before, and must accept his new life as an outcast.
