Synopsis – What to Expect from “Fire Birds”
Fire Birds is a 1990 American action-adventure film directed by David Green and starring Nicolas Cage, Tommy Lee Jones, and Sean Young.
The film follows the story of a group of elite United States Army helicopter pilots, nicknamed the “Fire Birds”, who are tasked with taking down a powerful drug cartel in South America. The team is led by Jake Preston (Nicolas Cage) and his mentor, Major “Dutch” Emerson (Tommy Lee Jones).
The Fire Birds face a formidable opponent in the form of the cartel’s leader, El Lobo (Barry Corbin). He has an army of mercenaries and a fleet of heavily armed helicopters at his disposal.
The team’s mission is complicated by the fact that the cartel has kidnapped a young girl, Maria (Sean Young). She is the daughter of a prominent local politician, and the team must rescue her in order to gain the trust of the local people.
