Synopsis – What to Expect from “Fever Pitch”
Fever Pitch is a romantic comedy about the power of love and the power of sports. It stars Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon as Lindsey Meeks and Ben Wrightman, two people from different worlds who find love in the most unlikely place—a Boston Red Sox game.
Lindsey is a successful businesswoman who is always in control of her life and her career. Ben is a teacher and die-hard Red Sox fan who lives and breathes the team. When they meet at a game, they are instantly attracted to each other, but Lindsey is skeptical that their relationship can work. She’s afraid that Ben’s obsession with the Red Sox will interfere with their relationship.
As the movie progresses, Lindsey and Ben’s relationship grows stronger, but Lindsey still has her doubts. Ben’s passion for the team is so strong that it often takes precedence over their relationship. Lindsey is forced to confront her own fears and insecurities and learn to trust and accept Ben’s love for the Red Sox.
In the end, Lindsey and Ben’s relationship is tested as the Red Sox make an improbable run to the World Series. With the help of their friends and family, Lindsey and Ben are able to reconcile their differences and find a way to make their relationship work.
