Synopsis – What to Expect from “Ferdinand the Bull”
Ferdinand the Bull is a classic animated film released in 1938. It tells the story of a bull named Ferdinand, who lives on a farm in Spain. Ferdinand is a gentle and kind-hearted soul who prefers to sit under a cork tree and smell the flowers, rather than participate in bullfights.
The other bulls on the farm are jealous of Ferdinand and they mock him for his gentle nature. One day, Ferdinand is selected to participate in a bullfight in Madrid. Despite the protests of his loving family, Ferdinand is taken away.
At the bullring, Ferdinand is timid and refuses to fight. The crowd is angry and the matador is embarrassed. The crowd starts to chant for Ferdinand’s death. However, Ferdinand’s kind and gentle nature wins the hearts of the crowd. The matador and the crowd are so moved by Ferdinand’s innocence that they decide to set him free.
Ferdinand returns to his family on the farm, where he is welcomed with open arms. Ferdinand has taught the other bulls on the farm the importance of being true to oneself, and they all learn to accept one another.
The movie ends with Ferdinand happily living his life on the farm, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
