Synopsis – What to Expect from “Female Trouble”
Female Trouble is a 1974 American black comedy film directed by John Waters. The film follows the life of Dawn Davenport, a rebellious teenager who dreams of fame and fortune.
The movie begins with Dawn’s parents, Earl and Donna, arguing about her behavior. Dawn is rebellious and uninterested in school, and she is constantly running away from home. One night, Dawn runs away to a nightclub, where she meets her idol, a drag queen named Divine. Divine tells Dawn that she should become a star, and Dawn takes her advice.
Dawn starts a career as a fashion model, and her fame quickly rises. She becomes a fashion icon and a celebrity, and she begins to live a life of excess and extravagance. However, her success comes with a price, as she soon finds out that her newfound fame has attracted the attention of some unsavory characters.
Meanwhile, Dawn’s parents are still trying to keep her in line. They hire a private investigator to track her down, but their attempts to control her only push her further away.
Eventually, Dawn’s life of excess leads her to a life of crime. She is arrested for shoplifting and sent to jail. In jail, she meets her old friend, Gator, who helps her escape. The two of them embark on a crime spree, stealing money and jewelry from wealthy people.
