Synopsis – What to Expect from “Fairy Tales”
Fairy Tales is a 1978 fantasy-comedy directed by Charles Swenson and starring Jack Weston, Shelley Winters, and Ruth Gordon.
The movie follows the misadventures of a group of misfit fairies and their human friends as they try to save their magical world from an evil witch. The story begins when a group of fairies, led by the wise King Oberon, are forced to flee their kingdom after the wicked witch, Calypso, takes over.
The fairies, led by Oberon, journey to the human world to find help. Along the way, they meet a young girl named Molly and her eccentric grandmother, Mrs. Honeysuckle. Molly and Mrs. Honeysuckle agree to help the fairies in their quest to save their kingdom.
The group soon discovers that Calypso has created a magical barrier around the kingdom to keep anyone from entering. To get past the barrier, they must find a magical key. The group sets off on a journey to find the key, encountering various obstacles along the way.
Eventually, they make it to the kingdom and face off against Calypso. With the help of Molly and Mrs. Honeysuckle, the fairies are able to defeat Calypso and restore peace to the kingdom.
