Synopsis – What to Expect from “Fair Haven”
Fair Haven is a heartfelt drama about a young man, James (Michael Grant), who returns to his small New England hometown after a five-year absence. He has been away serving in the Navy and is now back home to take care of his ailing father.
James is welcomed back with open arms by his old friends and family, but he soon finds himself in a complicated situation when he meets a mysterious stranger, Alex (Tom Wopat). Alex claims to have been sent by James’ father to help him with his transition back into civilian life.
James is initially suspicious of Alex’s motives, but he eventually begins to open up to him and rely on him for advice and guidance. As they spend more time together, James begins to develop feelings for Alex, but he is hesitant to act on them due to his strict religious upbringing.
Meanwhile, James’ childhood friend, Emily (Emily Corcoran), is struggling with her own issues. She is in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, and she is unable to find the courage to leave him. James and Alex help her to find the strength to break away from her situation and reclaim her life.
As James and Alex’s relationship grows, James is forced to confront his own feelings and decide whether or not he is ready to embrace a new kind of love. With the help of his friends and family, he must find the courage to accept his true identity and embrace his newfound freedom.
