Fahrenheit 9/11 is a documentary film written, directed, and produced by Michael Moore. It is a powerful and provocative examination of the Bush administration’s response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The film begins with a brief overview of the events of September 11th, from the initial terrorist attacks to the aftermath of the attacks. Moore then delves into the events of the following days and weeks, showing how the Bush administration used the tragedy to further their own political agenda. He examines the connections between the Bush administration and the Saudi royal family, and how the US government gave preferential treatment to Saudi citizens in the aftermath of the attacks.
Moore then turns to the war in Iraq, which he claims was a result of the Bush administration’s desire to gain access to Iraq’s oil reserves. He interviews soldiers who served in Iraq, as well as Iraqi citizens who suffered under the US-led occupation. He also examines the use of torture at Abu Ghraib prison, and the US government’s failure to provide adequate medical care for veterans.
Finally, Moore turns to the 2004 presidential election, and argues that the Bush administration used fear-mongering tactics to manipulate the American public into voting for Bush. He interviews several former Bush administration officials, as well as people who voted for Bush, to show how the Bush administration was able to win the election.
