Synopsis – What to Expect from “Eyewitness”
Eyewitness is a 1981 thriller directed by Peter Yates and starring William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, and Christopher Plummer. It tells the story of a young photographer, Daryll Deever (Hurt), who witnesses a brutal murder at a nearby train station. In an attempt to protect himself, Daryll takes a job as a security guard at the station, but soon finds himself in the middle of a complex web of murder and intrigue.
Daryll soon discovers that the murder he witnessed was part of a larger conspiracy involving a powerful mobster, Frank Cosmo (Plummer), and his henchman, Tony (Joe Pantoliano). With the help of his new boss, Detective John Hall (James Woods), Daryll begins to unravel the mystery behind the killing. As he does so, he finds himself in the middle of a deadly game of cat and mouse, as Cosmo and Tony will stop at nothing to keep their secrets hidden.
Meanwhile, Daryll’s relationship with his former girlfriend, Liz (Weaver), is put to the test as he struggles to keep his involvement in the case a secret. As the investigation takes a toll on his life, Daryll must decide whether he is willing to risk everything to bring the killers to justice.
