Synopsis – What to Expect from “Extraordinary Tales”
Extraordinary Tales is an animated anthology of five classic Edgar Allan Poe stories. The film brings to life the stories of Poe’s most famous works, including The Fall of the House of Usher, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar, and The Masque of the Red Death.
The film begins with a narrator, voiced by Christopher Lee, introducing Poe’s life and work. We then see each of the five stories animated in a unique style, with a different narrator for each story.
The Fall of the House of Usher is told through a series of still images, with Christopher Lee’s narration. We follow the story of Roderick Usher, who is slowly losing his mind, and the mysterious house he lives in.
The Tell-Tale Heart is told through a combination of stop-motion and hand-drawn animation, with Julian Sands narrating. We follow a man who is driven to madness by his guilt over murdering an old man.
