Synopsis – What to Expect from “Excision”
Excision is a 2012 horror film directed by Richard Bates Jr. and starring AnnaLynne McCord, Traci Lords, Ariel Winter, Roger Bart, Malcolm McDowell, and John Waters.
The movie follows the story of a troubled teenage girl named Pauline (McCord). Pauline is a high school student with a passion for medical science, but her dreams of becoming a doctor are hindered by her strict religious parents (Lords and Bart). Pauline’s obsession with the human anatomy and her desire to make a lasting impression on the world leads her to take extreme and dangerous measures to try and prove her worth.
Pauline’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic and she begins to push the boundaries of her family’s beliefs. She begins to obsess over her own body and its functions, and takes it upon herself to perform her own surgeries. She also begins to experiment with her own mental health, pushing herself to the brink of insanity.
