Synopsis/Plot
Excess Baggage is a 1997 American crime-comedy film starring Alicia Silverstone, Benicio del Toro, and Christopher Walken. The movie follows the story of Emily Hope, a rebellious and resourceful teenager who stages her own kidnapping in order to get her father’s attention.
Emily’s plan goes awry when her kidnapper, Vincent, turns out to be a car thief who is after her father’s vintage car. Emily finds herself in a dangerous game of cat and mouse as she attempts to outwit Vincent and get her father to take notice of her.
The movie follows Emily and Vincent as they travel from California to Arizona in her father’s vintage car. Along the way, Emily and Vincent form an unlikely bond as they face off against a variety of obstacles, including a relentless bounty hunter, a shady car dealer, and a gang of street thugs.
