Synopsis – What to Expect from “Evita”
Evita is a musical drama film released in 1996 and directed by Alan Parker. The film is based on the life of Argentine political leader Eva Perón, and follows her journey from her humble beginnings to her rise to power as the first lady of Argentina.
The movie begins with the introduction of Eva Duarte, a poor young woman from the small town of JunÃn, Argentina. Eva is determined to make something of herself and dreams of becoming an actress. She moves to Buenos Aires and begins to work her way up the ladder of fame and fortune. She quickly rises to become a popular radio and film star, and is soon noticed by the powerful Colonel Juan Perón. The two fall in love and marry, and Eva begins to use her newfound power to help the poor and downtrodden of Argentina.
However, as her power and influence increase, so do the enemies who seek to bring her down. Eva is accused of corruption and is even threatened with exile. Despite the controversy surrounding her, Eva continues to fight for the rights of the people of Argentina. Eventually, she becomes the first lady of the country and is beloved by the people.
The film culminates with Eva’s death from cancer in 1952. The movie concludes with a funeral procession for Eva, with thousands of people lining the streets to pay their respects. The movie serves as a testament to the legacy of Eva Perón and her fight for social justice and equality.
