Synopsis – What to Expect from “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie”
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is a British musical comedy-drama film released in 2021. The movie follows Jamie New, a 16-year-old from working-class Sheffield, England, who dreams of becoming a drag queen.
Jamie’s conservative, traditional family is initially shocked by his aspirations, but they eventually come to accept and support him in his dream. Jamie’s best friend, Pritti, helps him get the courage to pursue his dream and stand up for himself.
As Jamie starts to gain attention from his peers and the media, he starts to gain confidence and become the drag queen he always wanted to be. He meets Hugo, a drag queen mentor, who helps him learn the ropes and teaches him the importance of self-expression and self-love.
Jamie and Pritti also become close friends with a local drag queen, Ray, who helps them with their performances and encourages them to be true to themselves.
Jamie’s newfound confidence and courage helps him overcome his fears and insecurities as he takes part in a local drag competition. As his confidence grows, he starts to attract more attention from the media and his peers.
The movie follows Jamie’s journey as he learns to be true to himself and discovers the importance of self-expression. Along the way, Jamie learns to accept and love himself and find his own unique voice.
