Synopsis – What to Expect from “Everybody Wants Some!!”
Everybody Wants Some!! is a 2016 American comedy-drama film directed and written by Richard Linklater. It is set in the 1980s and follows a group of college baseball players as they navigate their way through the freedoms and responsibilities of unsupervised adulthood.
The movie follows freshman pitcher Jake (Blake Jenner) as he moves into an off-campus house shared by his teammates. As the weekend progresses, the players party, get to know each other, and explore the freedoms of college life. Jake meets a theater major named Beverly (Zoey Deutch) and they quickly develop a connection.
Meanwhile, the team’s captain, McReynolds (Tyler Hoechlin), is determined to keep the team focused on their upcoming season, and he clashes with the more free-spirited members of the team. Jake begins to struggle with his feelings for Beverly and his commitment to the team.
As the weekend draws to a close, Jake and his teammates must face the realities of their lives and the choices they have made. They must decide between their dreams and their responsibilities, and ultimately, each member of the team must figure out what they want out of life.
The movie culminates in a climactic baseball game that will decide the fate of the team and the future of each of its members. In the end, the team learns to come together and rely on each other as they move forward into adulthood.
