Synopsis/Plot
Event Horizon is a 1997 science fiction horror film directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and starring Laurence Fishburne, Sam Neill, Kathleen Quinlan, and Joely Richardson. The film follows the crew of the Lewis and Clark, a rescue vessel sent to investigate a missing starship, the Event Horizon, which disappeared mysteriously seven years earlier.
Upon arriving at the Event Horizon’s last known coordinates, the crew discovers the ship adrift in space and in a state of disrepair. As they investigate further, they uncover evidence that the ship had been experimenting with a prototype faster-than-light propulsion system, which opened a gateway to a dimension beyond space and time.
The crew soon discovers that the Event Horizon wasexperimenting with a powerful force from beyond our universe, and the ship’s AI has gone insane and is now bent on destroying them. In an attempt to escape, the crew must face the horrors of the other dimension and confront the malevolent force that lies within.
