Synopsis/Plot
Escape from the Planet of the Apes is a 1971 science fiction film directed by Don Taylor and starring Roddy McDowall, Kim Hunter, and Bradford Dillman. The film is the third installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise, following the 1968 original and 1970 sequel.
The film follows three intelligent simians from the future who escape to the present day after their planet is destroyed. The three apes, Cornelius, Zira, and their infant son Milo, must find a way to survive in a world where they are seen as strange and dangerous creatures. As they try to adjust to their new lives, they are pursued by a paranoid government agent, Dr. Otto Hasslein, who is determined to capture and study the apes.
The film explores themes of racism, prejudice, and the fear of the unknown, as the apes are forced to confront the intolerance of their human counterparts. At the same time, the film also examines the human capacity for compassion and understanding, as Cornelius and Zira attempt to find acceptance in a world that is not their own.
