Synopsis/Plot
End of Watch is a 2012 American crime drama film directed by David Ayer and starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña as Los Angeles Police Department officers Taylor and Zavala. The film follows the daily lives, dangers, and friendship of two young officers in South Central Los Angeles.
Taylor and Zavala are patrol officers assigned to the South Central area of Los Angeles, and their story is told through the footage from the cameras they wear on their bodies. The two officers are close friends and their interactions with each other, and with the people they encounter on the streets, create a powerful and intimate portrait of life as a police officer.
The officers soon become targets of a Mexican drug cartel, and their investigation leads them to a series of dangerous confrontations. As they get closer to the truth, they are forced to confront the consequences of their actions and the realities of the streets they patrol.
End of Watch is an intense and gritty look at the lives of two police officers in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Los Angeles.
