Eloise at the Plaza is a 2003 American comedy-drama film directed by Kevin Lima and based on the books written by Kay Thompson.
The movie follows the story of Eloise (played by Sofia Vassilieva), a precocious six-year-old girl who lives at the Plaza Hotel in New York City with her nanny, Nanny (played by Julie Andrews). Eloise is a wild and inquisitive child who loves to explore the hotel and its many secrets.
When Eloise’s mother, Kay (played by Jeffrey Tambor), returns to the Plaza, Eloise is excited to finally meet her. But Kay is more interested in her work than in spending time with her daughter. Eloise is left feeling neglected and decides to take matters into her own hands.
With the help of her friends, Eloise hatches a plan to bring her mother and father (played by Tim Curry) back together. She devises a series of adventures and pranks to try to reunite her parents. Along the way, Eloise learns valuable lessons about family, friendship, and responsibility.
