Synopsis/Plot
El Dorado is a 1966 western directed by Howard Hawks and starring John Wayne and Robert Mitchum. Set in the old west, the story follows two grizzled gunslingers, Cole Thornton (John Wayne) and J.P. Harrah (Robert Mitchum), as they team up to help an old friend, rancher Bart Jason (Edward Asner), protect his land from a ruthless cattle baron (Ed Asner).
The story begins with Cole arriving in El Dorado, a small town in the Arizona desert, to help Bart. As they investigate the situation, they discover that Bart’s land is being targeted by the cattle baron, who wants to buy it for a fraction of its worth. With the help of a local sheriff (James Caan) and a young gunslinger (Christopher George), Cole and J.P. set out to protect Bart’s land and foil the cattle baron’s plans.
As the story progresses, the gunslingers must battle against the cattle baron’s hired guns, as well as his own son (Michael Anderson Jr.), who has taken a fancy to Bart’s daughter (Charlene Holt). Along the way, they must also deal with a corrupt judge (
