Synopsis/Plot
Edtv is a 1999 comedy-drama film directed by Ron Howard and starring Matthew McConaughey, Jenna Elfman, Woody Harrelson, and Sally Kirkland. The film follows the life of Ed Pekurny (McConaughey), an average video store clerk who is chosen to star in a groundbreaking reality television show. The show, which is broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week, follows Ed’s every move and puts his life under the microscope of the public. As Ed’s life becomes increasingly chaotic, he must learn to cope with the pressure of being constantly watched and judged by millions of viewers.
