Synopsis – What to Expect from “Eden”
Eden is a 2014 drama film directed by Mia Hansen-Løve and starring Félix de Givry, Pauline Etienne, and Hugo Conzelmann.
The movie tells the story of Paul (Félix de Givry), a young French DJ living in Paris in the early 1990s, as he navigates his way through the vibrant underground electronic music scene. Paul is determined to make it big as a DJ, and despite the obstacles and challenges he faces, he remains focused on his dream. Along the way, he meets a variety of colorful characters, including his best friend Stan (Hugo Conzelmann), a fellow DJ; Cyrielle (Pauline Etienne), a young woman who falls in love with him; and Thomas (Vincent Macaigne), a drug dealer who introduces him to a world of partying and excess.
As Paul begins to gain more success in the music scene, he is forced to face the consequences of his choices and the toll they take on his personal life. He must decide what is most important to him—his career or his relationships—and how he will balance the two.
At the same time, the movie also explores the broader themes of the underground music scene and the impact it had on the culture of the time. The film features a diverse range of music, from house to techno to hip-hop, and captures the energy and excitement of the era.
