Hilary is initially hired to help Victor with his recovery from a serious illness. However, she quickly discovers that he has terminal cancer and only has a few months to live. Despite her initial hesitation, Hilary decides to stay with Victor and help him make the most of his remaining time.
The two develop a strong bond as they explore San Francisco, go on romantic dates, and share intimate moments. Hilary is eventually able to help Victor come to terms with his impending death. However, the couple’s bond is tested when Victor’s family refuses to accept Hilary and tries to keep her away from Victor.
