Synopsis/Plot
Duel is a 1971 suspense thriller directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Dennis Weaver as David Mann, a mild-mannered businessman who finds himself terrorized by an unseen truck driver while on a business trip.
The film begins with David Mann driving through the desert on a business trip. Along the way, he is passed by a large tanker truck which then proceeds to tailgate him and eventually force him off the road. From this point on, David becomes the target of a relentless and mysterious truck driver who attempts to run him off the road at every opportunity. As the tension builds, David desperately attempts to outwit the truck driver in a game of cat and mouse, while also trying to stay alive in the process.
The film is filled with suspense as David is forced to outmaneuver the truck driver in a variety of ways, while also trying to figure out who is behind the wheel of the truck. As the film progresses, it becomes increasingly clear that the truck driver is out for revenge against David for some unknown reason. The film culminates in an intense and thrilling finale as David and the truck driver battle it out on a deserted highway.
