Drop Dead Gorgeous is a 1999 black comedy film that follows the story of a small-town beauty pageant in the fictional town of Mount Rose, Minnesota.
The movie follows the story of Amber Atkins, a high school student who decides to compete in the local beauty pageant, the Mount Rose American Teen Princess Pageant, to win a scholarship and make a better life for herself. She faces stiff competition from the reigning pageant queen, Rebecca Leeman, who will do anything to win.
The movie follows the two as they compete for the crown, while Amber’s mother, Annette, and her friends, Lisa and Leslie, offer her support. Along the way, Amber and Rebecca must contend with the pageant director, Gladys Leeman, and her daughter, Mary Jo, who are determined to make sure Rebecca is crowned the winner.
The competition takes a dramatic turn when Amber discovers that the pageant is rigged and that the judges are being bribed. She must then find a way to expose the truth and win the pageant.
