Synopsis – What to Expect from “Dragonslayer”
Dragonslayer is a 1981 fantasy adventure movie directed by Matthew Robbins and starring Peter MacNicol, Caitlin Clarke, and Ralph Richardson.
The film follows a young wizard-in-training named Galen (Peter MacNicol) who is sent to a kingdom to slay a dragon that is terrorizing the kingdom. Galen is joined on his quest by a young girl named Valerian (Caitlin Clarke) who is determined to help him succeed.
The two of them travel to the kingdom and meet up with a group of knights who are also on a mission to slay the dragon. Together, they set out to find and slay the dragon.
The dragon, however, is not an ordinary dragon. It is an evil, ancient creature with powerful magic at its disposal. The dragon is also protected by an evil wizard, Ulrich (Ralph Richardson), who has put a curse on the kingdom.
Galen and Valerian must battle their way through Ulrich’s minions and the dragon itself in order to save the kingdom. In the end, Galen is able to use his magical powers to defeat the dragon and break the curse.
The movie ends with Galen and Valerian returning to the kingdom to a hero’s welcome. The kingdom is safe and the people are grateful for their bravery in slaying the dragon.
