Synopsis/Plot
Dracula is a classic horror film from 1931, directed by Tod Browning and starring Bela Lugosi. It is based on the novel of the same name by Bram Stoker, and tells the story of the Transylvanian vampire Count Dracula, who moves to England in search of new victims.
The film opens with a scene of Dracula’s castle in Transylvania, where a group of men led by Professor Van Helsing arrive to investigate the strange goings-on in the area. They discover that the castle is the home of Count Dracula, and soon come to realize that he is a vampire. After a battle, the men manage to drive him away and he flees to England.
In England, Dracula begins to prey on the innocent citizens of London, including the young Lucy Westenra. As he continues to feed on her, Lucy slowly begins to lose her life force and is at risk of becoming a vampire herself. Meanwhile, Professor Van Helsing and his team of vampire hunters arrive in England to try to stop Dracula before he can do any more damage.
The film culminates in an epic battle between the vampire hunters and Dracula, in which the hunters are eventually able
