Synopsis – What to Expect from “Dr. Phibes Rises Again”
Dr. Phibes Rises Again is a 1972 British horror film directed by Robert Fuest and starring Vincent Price as the titular character.
The film picks up where its predecessor, The Abominable Dr. Phibes, left off. Dr. Phibes is resurrected from the dead and is on a mission to find the River of Life, a legendary river that holds the secret to eternal life. To that end, he embarks on a quest to Egypt with his assistant Vulnavia to find the three sacred scrolls that will lead him to the river.
Meanwhile, a group of treasure hunters led by Professor Biederbeck have also set out to find the scrolls, believing they will lead them to a great treasure. As Dr. Phibes and his crew race against time to find the scrolls, they must contend with Biederbeck’s team and a variety of traps and obstacles set by the ancient Egyptians.
As the two parties face off against each other, they must also contend with the ancient gods and monsters that lurk in the depths of the Egyptian tombs. In the end, only one party will be successful in their quest and will be rewarded with either eternal life or a great treasure.
