Synopsis/Plot
Dr. Dolittle 2 is a 2001 American fantasy-comedy film directed by Steve Carr and starring Eddie Murphy. The film is a sequel to the 1998 film Dr. Dolittle and the second installment in the Dr. Dolittle film series.
The film follows the adventures of Dr. John Dolittle (Murphy), a doctor who can talk to animals. He is asked by the animal kingdom to help save the forest they live in from being destroyed by a group of developers. To save the forest, Dolittle must convince the animals to protect their home by convincing them to mate with their own species.
The film also stars Jeffrey Jones, Raven-Symoné, Kristen Wilson, Lil’ Zane, and Steve Zahn. It was released on June 22, 2001, and grossed over $176 million worldwide.
The film received mixed reviews from critics, but was praised for its visual effects and the performances of its cast. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
