Synopsis/Plot
Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood is a 1996 comedy film directed by Paris Barclay and starring Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans. The film follows Ashtray (Shawn Wayans), a young man from the hood who moves in with his Grandma (Helen Martin) to the ‘hood’ of South Central Los Angeles. Ashtray is quickly taken under the wing of his trouble-making cousin Loc Dog (Marlon Wayans), who is determined to show Ashtray the ropes of the hood. The two embark on a series of misadventures that involve avoiding the local gangsters, dealing with Ashtray’s father’s death, and trying to makea better life for themselves. The film also features cameos from several famous actors and comedians, including Chris Tucker, John Witherspoon, and Bernie Mac.
