Synopsis – What to Expect from “Doctor Who: The Waters of Mars”
Doctor Who: The Waters of Mars is a 2009 British science fiction television special of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. The special was written by Russell T Davies and Phil Ford, directed by Graeme Harper, and featured David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, Lindsay Duncan as Adelaide Brooke, and Peter O’Brien as Ed Gold.
The special takes place on the planet Mars in the year 2059, when the first human colony on Mars is about to be established. The Doctor, along with his companion Adelaide Brooke, arrive on the planet and discover that the planet is being threatened by an alien water creature known as the Flood. As the Doctor and Adelaide investigate the source of the Flood, they encounter Ed Gold, a human astronaut who is stranded on the planet.
The Doctor and Adelaide soon discover that the Flood is not a natural phenomena, but is actually the result of an alien race called the Flooders. The Flooders have been manipulating the planet’s water supply in order to create a new home for themselves. The Doctor and Adelaide must stop the Flooders before they can take over the planet and destroy the human colony.
The Doctor and Adelaide enlist the help of Ed Gold and the other humans on the planet to help them fight the Flooders. Together, they must find a way to stop the Flooders and save the planet from destruction. Along the way, the Doctor discovers the dark secrets of the Flooders and learns that they are not as powerful
