Synopsis/Plot
Doc Hollywood is a 1991 romantic comedy film starring Michael J. Fox as a young doctor who has recently graduated from medical school and is on his way to becoming a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. He takes a detour to the small rural town of Grady, South Carolina, where he finds himself stranded when his vintage Porsche breaks down. In the town, he meets an array of characters, including the beautiful, small-town girl, Lou (Julie Warner). With the help of the townspeople, Doc is able to repair his car, but he also finds himself growing increasingly attached to the town and its inhabitants.
The townspeople take a liking to Doc, and he finds himself growing more and more attached to them. He begins to understand the importance of community and the value of relationships over material possessions. He also finds himself falling for Lou, and the two eventually become a couple. However, Doc’s commitment to his career in Beverly Hills remains strong, and he must decide between his career ambitions and his newfound love for the town and its people.
