Synopsis – What to Expect from “Digging for Fire”
Digging for Fire is a 2015 comedy-drama written and directed by Joe Swanberg. The movie follows a married couple, Tim (Jake Johnson) and Lee (Rosemarie DeWitt), who are struggling to balance their career and parenting duties.
When Tim finds a bone and a rusty old gun while digging in the backyard of their rented house, he and Lee are thrown into a weekend of mystery and adventure. While Lee is concerned about the potential danger of the gun, Tim is more interested in the potential discovery of an historical artifact.
The couple invite their friends over to help them search for clues, but the digging leads to more questions than answers. As the couple explore the possibilities, they start to question their relationship.
Meanwhile, Lee’s career is taking off, and she has to decide whether to take a job in another city. Tim is also struggling to find his place in the world, and he’s not sure if he wants to stay with Lee.
The couple’s weekend of digging and adventure leads them to unexpected places, and they start to discover things about themselves and each other that they never knew before. In the end, they realize that the most important thing in life is the connection between two people.
